Length .3 - 7 mm A notably small Longhorn

Description

There are numerous species of longhorn beetle and several black and yellow coloured ones. Leptura quadrifasciatallooks like the very common Strangalia maculata, but is more strikingly marked, with distinctly orange-yellow marks which are well separated from one another. Typical elytral pattern is black with four transverse testaceous macula but these may vary in extent and in extreme cases the elytra can be black with a small yellow humeral spot The specimens below where found around Hemp agrimony and Bramble 02/08/2008
