Identification

Chlorops calceatus Meigen 1830. It has black scutal stripes, slightly shining, black antenna, tear-shaped black mark on the frontal triangle, it will have a black katepisternum (not visible in the photos), and characteristically a faint apical band on the abdominal segments plus a tiny black spot laterally. It has t the rounded scutellum in Chlorops, it is sharply flattened in Thaumatomyia.
