Biology:

The larvae tunnel in the bulbs of Allium ursinum. During its rather short flight period, males are often abundant around stands of the larval foodplant, where they can be seen visiting the flowers and resting on the foliage. Females are surprisingly elusive, but are presumably also present and making themselves less conspicuous

Distribution:

Widespread and often abundant wherever the larval food plant grows (usually, but not exclusively, in woodland). It has recently been recorded from northern Scotland
