Description Commonly known as the Bishops Mitre SB . It bears some resembalnce to a grain of grass seed
and is a grassland species as might be expected . Large and distinctive striped shieldbug with pointed head
and ridged pronotum.

Life Cycle One generation per year Adults mate and lay eggs spring / early summer. The diet of larvae is
on the ripening seeds of grasses in the Poaceae range ; Emergent Adults may be found from
August onwards.

Similar Species Nymphs similar to the smaller Neottiglossa pusilla and nay be confused

Habitat Distribution mainly Southerly Britain in tall and dry rank grassland , including sand dunes.
