Description

A medium sized bug with orange and brown markings on a blue grey background and black markings. Shoulders without obvious projections. The Tarsi has two segments .The bug gets its name from the high level of parental care given to its young sitting on the eggs for up to 2 - 3 weeks and thereafter guarding the young

Adult August - June hibernating in October

Length 7 - 9 mm

Larvae. Are around June - September

Habitat Birch Woods and birch trees in gardens and park.
