Length 5.0-6.0 mm

Description A small shieldbug with two clear identifiable features The scutellum has a long tongue like appearance reaching the rear of the abdomen and two knobbed projections on the pronotum at either side of the head.

Life Cycle One generation per year, adults mating and laying eggs in spring/early summer. The larvae feed on a range of grasses.

Habitat in dry and damp habitats, a ground-dwelling rarely found by chance requiring some search effort
