This species was intyroduced circa 1900 to Europe and is more predominant in the south but can be found below mid latitudes

Life Cycle The Adult and larvae feed on the sap of Rhododendron from the undersides of the leaves., being one of very few insects utilising this plant as food , more readily observed early morning as they bask in sunlight to warm body temperature

Habitat Parks and gardens.Distribution: Found firmly established on rhododendrons in S and central England
