ID Characteristics

• This species has three keels on the scutellum, as per Cixius,
• There are also usually three short dark stripes/ bands along forewing edge
• Forewing colour - varies , ranging from plain to almost entirely dark; one common form as shown has the forewings dark in the apical third.
• Also distinguished by the presence of dark spots between the veins at the tip of the forewing

  Distinguished from Cixius nervosa by the presence of dark spots between the veins near to the wing tips.

Habitat Adults located on Deciduous trees / shrubs, larvae feeding at the base of various grasses.usually encountered on low vegetation
