A communal 0r social bee which lives in permanent colonies Wild colonies prefer sheltered sites in hollow trees and similar structures

Diet consists of pollen and nectar taken from flowers Honey (regurgitated nectar) and pollen transported on the pollen Baskets on the leg sustain the colony over the winter months
