Description

The Banded Demoiselle is a most striking damselfly I. The male has a coloured metallic blue-green body with large, dark blue patches on its wings. It can often be mistaken for a day-flying moth or dark butterfly or over the water.

Mature males have awith a broad, dark band across the wings Females have a brilliant metallic green body and the wings are tinted green
