Rare, on shingle beaches.
Flower diameter c 5-7 mm. Stems c 30-60 cm long.
Flowers tubular with 5 petal-lobes, pink at first, then blue. (similar to lungwort) Leaves pale blue-green, hairless, with dotted surface.
Other features: Plant covered in a kind of "bloom" like a grape. Stems purplish, lying along the ground. Leaves somewhat fleshy, as with many seaside plants. Flower-stalks elongate in fruit.
