Family Plantaganaceae Table
Low Hairless aquatic perennial, with creeping runners , often found growing on the drying margins of ponds and lakes. Widespread in N and W but local in S Britain. Narrow, fleshy leaves form a basal rosette. Tiny flowers, 4 petals , with minute whitish petals, not usually flowering under water , male stalked with prominent stamens , separate frm unstalked females , appear June to August. Near or by freshwater , not lime.
