Flower Spider Misumena vatia

Length Young males in the early summer may be quite small and easily overlooked, but females can grow up to 10 mm (excluding legs); males reach 5 mm at most.

Phenology Mainly from May to June, but sometimes as late as August

Description It can change colour from white to pale green to yellow to match the flower it is hiding on. The thorax often has two pale green lines and the abdomen can have two red stripes.The ground colour can therefore be yellow , pure white or any fkower colour on which it lives

Life Cycle

Habitat & Ecology This spider is found on flowers where it lies very still and supremely camouflaged.
